Focus Fatigue & the Myth of Motivation

If you’ve ever felt like you should be able to focus, follow through, or stay motivated — but your body and brain don’t cooperate — you’re not broken. You’re likely dealing with focus fatigue, nervous system overload, and strategies that were never designed for real humans.

In this workshop, we’ll gently unpack the myth of motivation and look at what actually drives focus, follow-through, and energy — especially for neurodivergent, sensitive, overwhelmed, or burnt-out brains.

You’ll learn why:

  • Motivation is unreliable (and not a moral issue)

  • Focus fluctuates with your nervous system state

  • Pushing harder often backfires

  • “Productivity tips” can increase shutdown, shame, or avoidance

And you’ll leave with simple, body-based tools you can use right away to support focus without force.

What We’ll Explore

  • The Focus–Fatigue Loop

  • The Myth of Motivation

  • Regulation > Willpower

This Workshop Is For You If:

  • You struggle with focus, follow-through, or task initiation

  • You’ve been told to “just be more motivated” and it never helped

  • You experience burnout, fatigue, overwhelm, or shutdown

  • You’re neurodivergent, sensitive, anxious, or chronically stressed

  • You want supportive tools instead of productivity pressure
